Load your Video Book
Three steps, about five minutes. First, let's check your films will play.
1. Check your films
Choose the films you'd like on your book. We look at them here, on your own device: nothing is sent to us.
or drag them here
2. Fix anything we flagged
Only needed if the check above found something. Choose your computer:
- Open the film in QuickTime Player.
- Choose File, then Export As, then 1080p. If space is tight, 720p looks almost the same on the book's screen.
- If it asks, choose Greater Compatibility.
- Save it, then use the new copy.
- Open iMovie and create a new movie.
- Drag your film in. iMovie places it on a landscape frame with dark bars at the sides.
- Choose File, then Share, then File, and save at 1080p.
- Open Clipchamp (sign in with your Microsoft account if it asks) and create a new video.
- Add your film and drag it onto the timeline.
- Choose Export, then 1080p (or 720p if space is tight), and save it.
- Create a new video; it starts as a landscape (16:9) frame.
- Add your film to the timeline. It sits in the middle with dark bars at the sides.
- Export at 1080p.
Not sure, or no luck? Email info@occasionary.co.uk and we'll help.
The book plays films in name order. Put a number at the start of each name: 01 Highlights, 02 Vows, 03 Full film.
The book plays films, so photos need turning into a slideshow first. Any slideshow app works; save it as a 1080p film.
Everything together needs to be under 3.8 GB. Save larger films at 720p (or 480p): on the book's screen they look almost the same, at a fraction of the size.
3. Load your book
- Connect your Video Book to your computer with the USB cable. It appears like a memory stick called Occasionary.
- Remove any films you no longer want, and empty the bin.
- Copy your films onto it.
- Eject it, unplug the cable, and open the cover.
Please don't format the book: that removes the software that plays your films.
